The throw-in and freekick specialist at Torquay United, Kev is a key player in defence.
Born in Derby on the 20th October 1980, Kevin Nicholson is now 28.

Kev started his career in Sheffield as a trainee at Hillsborough with Wednesday. He was with th club for three years from 1998 to 2001. He played only once for the club, in 2000, but was substituted for Andy Hinchcliffe in the first half on a 1-1 draw with Blackburn at home.

In January 2001 he went on loan to Forest Green Rovers where he again played just the once.
The folowing month he was free-transferred to Northampton Town.

After just 7 starts for the Cobblers he transferred, again for free, to Notts County.
It was here where Kev made his first major stint in the football league. He notched up a total of 95 games for County, scoring 3 times.

In March 2004, after 3 years at the club, he went out on loan to Scarborough. After an impressive debut, where he got on the scoresheet no less, and a good showing for the rest of the season he signed on a free transfer.

Kev was a regular in the Scarborough first team for two seasons playing 82 games and scoring 4 goals. However Scarborough were relegated from the Football Conference to the Conference North and had severe money problems. Kev jumped ship just before it sank, less than a year later Scarborough FC dissolved.

Kev made the move back to Forest Green who were in the Conference. It was during this spell in 2006-07 where he earned a call-up to the England C team.

The manager of the C team, Paul Fairclough, was also the manager of Barnet who had just been promoted back into the football league. He tried to poach Nicholson for his team but Kev followed his heart to Devon. He signed for Torquay United on the 20th June 2007 on a free transfer.

Kev has since played four times for England C at number 3 and notched up 86 games at Torquay, scoring four goals.

He is best known for his set piece taking
