Futures to Be Decided Next Week

Manager Chris Hargreaves has said that next week he will make decisions on the future of the playing squad as he turns his full attention to next season and what we hope will be a successful push for promotion back to the Football League.

With preparations for the Conference already underway, the gaffer knows his focus has been on the Wycombe match this weekend, and once that is out of the way, he'll be turning his full attentions to the squad he wants to move forward with next term.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer admits he's pretty much already made up his mind on the decisions he will make, but he'll have a final think once the game is out of the way and then hold talks so everyone knows where they stand.

'I've decided in my mind what the plan will be going forward. For all managers it's not as easy as that because some players who aren't in your plans are under contract. There are also some players who are in your plans, who are out of contract and may have wages you can't afford. There will be a lot of negotiation with players and there will be a conversation with them.'

He adds these discussions will begin next week in earnest and ultimately some players will be told if they can get a better deal elsewhere they can go with his blessing, and if that doesn't happen then it'll be the transfer list for them but if some remain, he'll expect them back and fresh for the first day of pre season training and then we'll see where we go from there.
