Disappointment But We Move On Again

Disappointment But We Move On Again

Manager Chris Hargreaves has admitted it was a case of disappointment again following the defeat to Hartlepool, but all anyone can do is look forward to our next game, keep working hard, and do even more to ensure we come out with the result we want.

The three nil defeat wasn't the result we'd have been hoping to achieve to build on the creditable draw with Burton Albion in our last game, and speaking to the Official Site the gaffer explained.

'We played really well in the first half and should have been leading the game at half time, we passed the ball well but conceded the first, then a second, which was very disappointing.'

Hargreaves goes on to say that conceding from the set piece as we did was extremely disappointing because everyone has a designated man on a corner and you can't lose them that easily if you expect to defend the box.

At two nil down we are then chasing the match and stretching ourselves to try and get back into it, and as often occurs we then got done with a sucker punch and conceded the third.

'We take lots of positives from the first half and there's no sitting in the corner and crying. I'm disappointed for our fans because they've travelled a long way to watch and I'm not happy for them, they're a great set of fans. We'll be doing our best to put in a good performance next week.'

The gaffer also maintains that we should've had a penalty in the game and from where he was standing it looked a concrete shout when Elliot Benyon was shoved, but it wasn't to be and that's often your luck when you're sitting bottom. You don't get the breaks.
