Hargreaves Preparing As Normal
Manager Chris Hargreaves has said that everybody was preparing as normal for the Northampton game tomorrow, and they weren't letting doubts over the state of the pitch affect them, because if the game does go ahead, we need to be ready for the manager's first taste of Plainmoor as a gaffer and come out of it with all three points.
Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, he explained.
'The pitch doesn't affect our preparation and we look at it as another game. It's not flippant to say that because we prepare for tomorrow in the same as any game. We have lots of games to play before the end of the season and we treat them all as an opportunity to impose ourselves, and try to get points.'
Hargreaves goes on to say that obviously there are areas of the pitch that are troublesome when it comes to rainwater, and obviously that does have to be considered when setting out a game plan, but overall preparation will remain the same and too much doesn't change because you can't dictate an entire game if it goes ahead over a few areas of a pitch.
He finishes his interview by saying obviously the team haven't played on our own pitch for a while, but we have trained on it at points, and we don't know exactly how it will play until we get a game there, but he does have a few ideas of things he wants to change in our performances and there are areas of the game plan that will be implemented, regardless of how the pitch runs.
