Duo Leave Torquay

Niall Thompson has left the club for a loan spell, whereas Kirtys MacKenzie has terminated his contract.

Winger Thompson has moved to Weymouth on a one month loan deal.

He has already spent the first half of the season out on loan with Worcester City and the second spell out, which may be extended for a further period, will give him greater first team experience.

Young defender MacKenzie has today reached agreement with Torquay to mutually terminate his contract.

Kirtys came through the Academy set up in the summer of 2012 and he made his debut in the game against Port Vale. This has proved to be his only appearances in our first team though, and he was unfortunately struck down with illness at the end of the season.

The clubs' statement announcing his departure says he will always be welcome at Plainmoor and our physio Damian Davey will always be at the end of the phone for the youngster should he want any medical advice in the coming months.

Torquay thank him for his efforts and commitment to the club and wish him the very best of success in the future.
