Our Turn For The Rub Of The Green
Alan Knill believes that our hard work recently has helped us gain some luck during games, and that was apparent in the victory over Morecambe.
Speaking to the Official Site following the 2-0 win which puts us in with a great shout of staying up, Knill more believed that our own work ethic and positivity contributed to the luck we had in the game, as opposed to us being given a free pass in some ways.
The early sending off of keeper Doyle, and then his replacement's shocking error gifting us a lead through an own goal, Knill believes was deserved with how we approached the entire game.
'It was all about the result and we did enough to get the result. It was a massive three points, especially when you look at what happened in some of the other games. I'm really pleased and delighted for the players because they've worked so hard. If you work consistently work that hard, the luck will change and we had a fair bit yesterday.'
Knill says we 'earned' that luck because there have been a number of times during the season where we haven't had the rub of the green, so to get it at this stage and have it help to contribute to such an important victory, you can more see why people say it does even itself out over the course of the season.
Torquay require just a point from our remaining game against Bristol Rovers, although of course Knill will want to end the season on a high and another victory.
